Chicken burger

KFC chicken burger for dinner today. I am flabbergasted but in a positive way. I should have picked up two of them instead of one. I am hungry for more and the store might be closed by now and I don't have the patience to go out today. Simply out the less it is the more it should have been.

Vadai

What what what??? What am I having for breakfast? Obama is in town and I am having some Os ;). Did you get that?

The O shaped Vadai. It was once upon a time the dish of the sons in law who used to come home for festivals only to be fed up with these Vadai and some nice home cooked mutton. After they are fed properly they would head back home from the Sankranthi with a pair of new dresses and some pocket money. Times have changed and things have changed but the dishes didn't. Thankfully. ;)

Garlic bread and a flavoured discussion

Is there anything that can make a discussion better?

Yep there is! A flavoured discussion. It is essentially why we thrive. For sharing. Talking. Giving. Thinking. Understanding. It is only human to be able to look for conversations and good food.

Pizza Hut is the best when it comes to food in the evening. After a long day at work I got to go to the closest pizza place and found ourselves here. It is a nice way to have a working lunch as you go through leads discuss progress and see what you can do an what needs to be done.

Judwa chapati

Apparently there are many ways in which you can make chapatis. This is one of the most tiresome and long process but the result is awesome. I loved it. There are twin rotis in this one roti. One above the other. It is simply the most double delicacy in the roti world.

For the effort that is put up in this making it, we got the whole plates cleaned up.

Five star chicken

I had this sudden craving for a good spicy chicken meal and then it was around 6 in the evening. So as I went out I stumbled upon this outlet called five star chicken and viola. They had these freshly prepared chicken dishes that were yummylicious. Do check them out.

Dosa and peanut chutney

Once in a while we take time out to stay at home and have something together. It is only a blessing when you have parents coming home and take over the kitchen. In this case it is my mother in law who is with us and is ruling our kitchen. Every day is like a buffet in a personal hotel. I get to taste awesome dishes and varieties which are made with a lot of care and love. I am amazed at the patience she has in making these papad like dosas just because I like them.

Boats place

Am back at the boats place. All the dishes here are served in these plastic containers and plates that look like this. What to do I him the boat song and dig in.

The taste of Tamil Nadu is embraced in Bangalorenso much that we have to have a really good tongue to decipher which is which. I am sure you would be surprised when you cross the border and taste something similar and might miss that single spoon of sugar or the hing!?

Fresh made puri

What makes me go gaga over the chef's skills is the effortlessness they exhibit when we order over the counter fresh food at the good restaurants. These people work hard and long. It isn't everyday that you encounter someone who would be willing to work overtime with a long queue of hungry patrons ordering dollops of food.

At their amazingly patient demeanour we were quite welcome when delayed and boy they do whip up some good good food. These guys were more than willing to feed is extra paratas chapatis and the pooris. Freshly our I the hot oil pan this is amazingly soft yet golden brown. A heartfelt thank you to the team at Taj Vivanta.

Chicken kebab and Kerala parota

When in the land of the sea farers done like them. I wish I was back on the sandy evening beaches of Kerala and be having this same meal. The parota in its numerous folds engulfed the curry like a sea swallows the waves of froth and becomes one it itself that you won't be able to differentiate.

The simplest and delicious taste of a curry is in the conundrum of earthly flavours mixed to perfection by the hand that made the first Britishers taste buds so kathakali.

My favourite snack in college

We were in about of the world campus. What looked like a paradise in the brochure was actually a vfx effect of a building in a jungle and we bought into it. Only when we moved to the campus did we realize that it was an out of the world campus and we need to some two hours to reach there. Now there was limited food in the canteen and we needed some quick fixes to survive. Having a toaster was a strict no-no in the hostel but these butter buns were our solution to a late night snack. After all it is the best healthy non harming bachelor food of all times.

Mutton soup

Had this wonderful soup at a street side kebab shop. I loved the soup so much that I forgot taking his shop pic. The hospitality here is amazing. Too bad I have to fly back. My project manager is getting laid off and I have to report back to office in two days. Let's see how much I can explore these two days.

Pongal International

On the way to Mauritius and see what I am having. A traditional pongal. What nonsense you might say but this might be the last time in the next few days. So though I am tempted by the Baristas and Pizza huts I am having the traditional food.

The prices are too heavy but the taste and my hunger made up for it.

Having Newzealand for dinner

What did I do today? I am having a whole country for dinner. Ya. I mean it. This little green fellow is a mushy crunchy seedy and tasty snack and the fellow is so naughty that he tried to lure me from walking away. Doesn't work with me. He is resting in my tummy now. He served it and more reasonably I deserve him. Yay!

Sunny side up

What us with the breakfast timing? Where is it written that you should have it early in the day and not a bit late? Health food freaks would be saying otherwise but I think you should have a healthy snack once in a while.

Today I start my day lazily and here is what I had. Yummy sunny side up with chilli flakes to have a spicy and flavours twist to the bread I was munching. Goes well with tea.

Real badam milk

Wish they had me shooting when they were making it man. I was shocked to find some real badam milk in a 3/4ths cup of badam milk which costed me 20₹. I am shocked. That is a mean looking healthy drink and wish there was less sugar in it but I could feel the love with which it was made bro. It was mean and loving at the same time. Good to have had it on the street. The old lady who made it grinned at me when she served me the milk as if I was in a seven star hotel getting royal treatment. I love street food. Don't ya?

KFC = drugs

I know! How did this happen? They just doubled up the prices since I was there last time. So I was about to get a heart attack when I saw those prices apparently updated to the nick of the seconds hand on the clock.

Thank god I can write as I want to and am not a sold out food blogger who has to account for every word she writes on the blog. I don't even care of they don't let me come to an event next time. Ya. I don't really care. The prices are too high man. I got to get over this. I got to.

My salary can't afford this stupid insanely good finger licking chicken man. I have to get out of the addiction. I love my KFC but bro these prices aren't sane enough.

Happy birthday to me.

So it is my birthday and I am just sitting here thinking what did I do last year and nothing significant comes over in my mind. I am like damn how can this happen. How did I get a whole year pass by me and didn't even realise? Tamil Nadu pongal

I must confess I love the pongal from Tamil Nadu. A soft combination of dal, rice, ginger, coconut, peppers, spices and what not cooked overtime in a bowl and added with light curd chutney that makes it an ideal breakfast. If you consume more than what you can hold you might fall asleep. So don't day I didn't warn you.

One full coffee.

I start my day with a full glass of frothing it coffee. It keeps me alert and make me think I am ready. And in another two hours I have to drown another one to stay up. So many things happen but this is what rejuvenated me. What's your fix?
